First Annual National Croatian Wine Day

June 25, 2021, will mark the First Annual National Croatian Wine Day in the US and the country’s thirty years of independence. To honor this moment, join the National Croatian Wine Day founder Anna M. Viducic as she teams up with Croatian Premium Wine Imports’ President, Mirena Bagur, for a virtual tour and tasting of Croatia’s finest wines.

We will be tasting three wines produced from indigenous varieties, Pošip and Plavac Mali, from Komarna, the youngest appellation in Croatia: Volarević Pošip Syrtis 2018, Deak Ćaća Moj Plavac Mali Rosé 2018, and Terra Madre Plavac Mali Barrique 2016.

We will highlight Croatia’s unique wine history dating back to 2,500 years and its home to an estimated 120 indigenous grape varietals and four key wine regions: Croatian Uplands, Dalmatia, Istria and Kvarner, and Slavonia and Croatian Danube; 16 sub-regions and 66 appellations, producing wines exhibiting an array of styles from unique terroirs, all of which are worthy of our attention.
